As they descended the volcano, Fred, Astra, and Alex were somewhat surprised to see exact duplicates of Fred and Astra, along with a small dog, staring agog at them. Actually, no, after everything that had happened to them they weren't all that surprised that they were facing exact duplicates of themselves. What did surprise them was that the other Astra was pregnant. Fred was the most surprised of all--if this being was somehow him, how could he violate his own code of honor? That said, he admitted to himself, Astra was a very attractive woman. But he had never felt any love for her--unlike Prince Alex, back when he had been transformed into a woman. Except he was a man again now, which was what he was supposed to be, but Fred still regretted what might have been, and felt a bit of disgust over what he had felt for him/her...
Before Fred could continue to wallow in his angst, however, the other Astra's eyes bugged out and she pulled out her sword, charging at them. "Die, minions of the Dragon!" she cried. She promptly tripped over a coconut that was lying in her path, although her Fred caught her before she could hit the ground. "Forgive her, she's had a rather hard time lately," said the other Fred. "So who would you be?" "I am Lord Frederigo D'Honaire, and this is Princess Astra of Aqualaria and her brother, Alex," responded Fred. "You?" "I'm also Astra, and these are Fred and Velus," responded the other Astra. "Oh, my head," said Alex. "This is even worse than being turned into a woman! Actually, I kind of liked being a woman now that I think about it. Being an Aqualarian male is no piece of cake, and then there's... Oh. Ahem. I'm sorry, just the volcanic fumes."
